Police find fentanyl, meth during drug bust on Longwoods Road

Three people are facing drug trafficking charges after Chatham-Kent police allegedly seized some drugs and some cash while they were searching a residence on Longwoods Road in Chatham early Thursday morning.

Members of the CK Police Intelligence Section executed the search warrant at the residence just after 5 a.m. Thursday with the help of the Critical Incident Response Team.

Officers said they found three people inside the residence and arrested them.

Police also reported finding approximately 101 grams of suspected fentanyl, 57 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 10 Percocet tablets, some electronic digital scales, and more than $7,000 of Canadian and American currency. Officers said the drugs that were seized have an estimated street value of $49,000.

The three people who were arrested were each charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 45-year-old man from Longwoods Road in Chatham was taken into custody pending a bail hearing while a 29-year-old woman from Longwoods Road and a 36-year-old woman from Longwoods Road were both later released with a future court date.
