Impaired driving charge laid after crash claims Dresden teen’s life
Chatham-Kent police have charged a 19-year-old Dresden woman with impaired driving after a single-vehicle crash on Longwoods Road east of Chatham that claimed the life of her 19-year-old passenger.
Police said they were called to the scene near Centre Side Road just outside of Louisville shortly after 12 a.m. Monday, adding that the 19-year-old woman — who is also from Dresden — was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with minor injuries.
Investigators believed the driver had been drinking, so she was arrested for impaired driving causing death.
Members of the local police service are also offering their deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
