Pair busted with stolen vehicle
Two men have future court dates after they were caught inside an allegedly stolen vehicle in Blenheim.
Shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday, a Ministry of Natural Resources officer located the stolen vehicle on New Scotland Line.
Chatham-Kent police attended the scene and found a 38-year-old man and a 40-year-old man inside the vehicle who appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
Officers arrested both men for possession of stolen property. One man was taken to the hospital for medical assessment before being released with a future court date.
The other man was transported to police headquarters where he was searched and found in possession of suspected fentanyl. He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and released with a future court date.
Collision leads to charges
An Aylmer man is facing charges after he drove into a ditch in Harwich Township.
Around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Towanda Boulevard.
According to police, the 54-year-old lost control and entered the ditch.
Through investigation, officers allege that the man was impaired and driving a stolen vehicle.
As a result, he was charged with impaired driving by Chatham-Kent police. He was then released to provincial police who took over the stolen vehicle investigation.
Pair of warrant arrest
Chatham-Kent police were able to nab two people wanted on warrants.
Around 2:48 a.m. Sunday, officers arrested a 19-year-old woman from Chatham for an outstanding assault warrant.
Two hours later, police in Wallaceburg located a 35-year-old who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Officers arrested the Wallaceburg man and when searching him, located suspected methamphetamine.
Both individuals were released with future court dates.
