Man arrested for failing to comply with release conditions

A 28-year-old man who was released from custody earlier this month is back in a holding cell after he allegedly showed up at a woman's home even though he had been ordered to stay away from there.

Police said the man was released from court on April 1, 2021 with several conditions, one of which was that he was not allowed to be near a specific Chatham woman's residence.

Officers said despite that, the man was allegedly spotted walking in the area of the woman's home on Thursday, so he was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
