Break-in reported at New Vision Optical

Officers are keeping their eyes peeled for approximately $10,000 worth of eye glasses reported stolen from a business in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police said a break-in was reported at New Vision Optical on James Street after the front door was smashed in Sunday morning around 5:40 a.m. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Several people arrested on warrants

Chatham-Kent police had a busy Easter Sunday after several people wanted on warrants were arrested.

A 30-year-old man wanted on charges of theft and possession under $5,000 was arrested in Wallaceburg Sunday afternoon following a traffic stop. He was transferred to OPP.

A short chase in Chatham Sunday night resulted in the arrested of a 42-year-old man who was wanted for aggravated assault and weapons dangerous. He was held in police custody for a bail hearing.

A 41-year-old Chatham woman wanted on an outstanding warrant for allegedly taking a motor vehicle without consent was arrested Sunday morning. She was later released from police custody with a future court date.

Also, a 39-year-old man was arrested in Thamesville for allegedly breaking probation conditions. Meanwhile, a 40-year-old woman was arrested in Wallaceburg for allegedly failing to attend her court date.
