The Chatham-Kent Fire Department kept busy Tuesday evening responding to two residential fires.
Emergency crews arrived at 36 Alfred Street in Chatham at around 5:45 p.m. after being notified of a blaze that started in the garage on the property. Firefighters said the cause is undetermined and damages are pegged at $50,000.
Not long after the first call, the fire department was dispatched downtown to an apartment on 105 King Street at 5:52 p.m. Officials deemed the fire to be cooking-related and estimate damages around $75,000.
No one was hurt during either incident.
