Police locate stolen vehicle

Two men will have to answer to charges after getting caught by Chatham-Kent police on Friday evening with a vehicle that didn't belong to them.

Around 7 p.m., officers located a stolen van near the Ridgetown Inn. Police observed two 41-year-old Chatham men enter the stolen vehicle. Police approached them and placed them under arrest.

The pair were charged with possession of stolen property. Police also learned that both men were allegedly involved in a break and enter earlier in the day. As a result, the men were also charged accordingly.

They were taken to police headquarters and held for bail.

Ambulance assist 

Around 4:48 p.m. Friday, local police responded to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in response to a man being high on drugs who was being combative with staff members and paramedics.

Officers arrived on the scene and arrested the 29-year-old Chatham man for breach of the peace. He was cleared medically then transported to Chatham-Kent police headquarters and eventually released.

Theft of a motor vehicle

Police are looking for a suspect after a vehicle was stolen in Wallaceburg on Friday.

Around 3:08 p.m., a vehicle was stolen in the area of Dufferin Avenue. Police were able to locate the vehicle after it got into a collision down the road.

There was around $500 in damage and the suspect fled the scene. However, police were able to identify the suspect and will be seeing a warrant for his arrest.

Impaired driving arrest 

A 61-year-old is facing an impaired driving charge after an incident in Chatham.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Friday evening, police responded to the area of Grand River Line in response to a suspected impaired driver.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle after it had rolled over onto its side. The woman was arrested for suspected impaired driving and taken to police headquarters before eventually being released.
