Youth accused of assaulting older brother with a kitchen knife

A 16-year-old youth who was already wanted for break and enter is facing more charges now after he allegedly attacked his older brother with a kitchen knife.

Police said they were called in to investigate the incident in Wallaceburg at around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

Officers said their investigation showed that the youth and his 18-year-old brother had been arguing before the assault took place.

The 18-year-old victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the youth fled the scene before officers arrived, but they were able to track him down a short time later.

He was arrested, charged, and taken into police custody.

Man wanted for breaching probation also accused of theft

A 34-year-old man who was already wanted for breaching his probation is facing more charges after he allegedly stole a cell phone, a wallet, and some cash from a motel room in Wallaceburg.

Police said the theft took place Thursday morning, adding that officers were able to track down the suspect and recovered the stolen property.

The accused was charged in connection with the case and on the outstanding warrant and was later released with a future court date.

Suspicious persons call leads to arrest

A 35-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for some domestic-related offences and failing to attend court is facing more charges now after police allegedly spotted him with a woman he was supposed to stay away from.

Police said they found the pair together outside in a parking lot near a store on St. Clair Street in Chatham Thursday night after they got a tip about a suspicious man and woman.

The man was arrested, charged, and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Two arrests on outstanding warrants

A 33-year-old man of no fixed address and a 39-year-old man of no fixed address who were both wanted by police have been arrested and charged.

Police said they found the 33-year-old man while they were responding to a call about a suspicious man in the area of Richmond Street and Queen Street in Chatham Thursday afternoon.

He was wanted for robbery, theft, and failing to attend court. The man was taken into custody pending a bail hearing and then released with a future court date.

The 39-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning. He was wanted for failing to attend court to provide a DNA sample and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
