Police investigating rural break-ins

Chatham-Kent police are investigating three different break-ins that all took place in rural areas of the municipality since Christmas.

Police said sometime since December 25, someone broke into a residence on Kent Bridge Road in Howard Township and caused about $2,000 damage inside.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Doug Littlewood at douglasl@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600 extension #87288.

Police are also appealing to the public for tips in connection with two recent break-ins in Dover Township.

Officers said sometime overnight between December 28 and December 29, someone broke into a barn on a property on Maple Line in the area of Jacob Road -- a garage on an property next to that barn was also entered.

Police said it is not clear yet what exactly was stolen because an inventory check is still being completed, but anyone with information on those break-ins is asked to contact Constable Pete Chandler at peterc@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600 extension #87332.

Anonymous callers with information on any crimes can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
