Mischief arrest in Chatham

A man will have to go before a judge in February after allegedly urinating on public property in Chatham on Monday morning.

Around 6:20 a.m., police attended a bank on King Street for an unwanted person.

Officers located the 46-year-old man near the ATM and arrested him for breaching his bail conditions.

He was further charged with mischief after it was discovered that he allegedly urinated on the property.

He was eventually released with a future court date.

Warrant arrests reveal methamphetamine

Two people are facing charges after a pair of separate warrant arrests across the municipality early Tuesday morning.

Around 1 a.m. police initiated a traffic stop in Chatham.  As a result, a 42-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants for failing to attend court.

While conducting a search, officers found that the man was in possession of alledged methamphetamine. He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and was released with a future court date.

Elsewhere, around 3:30 a.m. in Wallaceburg, police arrested a 24-year-old man on an outstanding warrant for mischief under $5,000.

The man was taken to Chatham-Kent police headquarters where a search revealed a bag of alleged methamphetamine in his possession.

As a result, he was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and held for a bailing hearing.
