Pair of break and enters in CK

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after responding to two break and enters on Christmas Eve.

Officers were dispatched to Tecumseh Street in Dresden in response to reports of a break and enter.

Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect or suspects got away with $2,000 worth of tools.

Around 7 p.m., officers were also called to Bell Rose Line near Pain Court for a break and enter.

Investigation revealed that a laptop was stolen and around $1,000 in damage was done to the residence.

Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call police or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Stolen vehicles

Police in Chatham-Kent are on the lookout for a couple of vehicles that were stolen from Wallaceburg.

Officers were first called to Old Glass Road on Thursday in response to a stolen vehicle.

Sometime in the previous 24 hours, someone had stolen a grey 2007 GMC Sierra pickup truck, last seen with Ontario licence plate BA68055.

On Friday, police responded to reports of another stolen vehicle in Wallaceburg.

Officers responded to Elizabeth Street, where sometime overnight a 2008 grey Chevrolet Cobalt was stolen. The Cobalt was last seen with Ontario plates CRMA935.

Anyone with information on either stolen vehicle is asked to call police or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Disturb the peace

A woman got a reminder from police after a Christmas Day incident in Wallaceburg.

Officers were dispatched to First Street on Friday in response to a disturbance.

When police arrived, they saw the woman in her driveway, yelling at someone while on her cellphone. As a result, the woman was asked to keep the peace.

Multiple collisions across CK

Chatham-Kent police are reminding residents to be extra cautious on the roadways now that winter weather has returned.

According to police, there were seven motor vehicle accidents reported across the municipality on Friday.

Police say some of the key things to remember while behind the wheel are to slow down and give enough space between you and other vehicles.
