Man arrested in connection with a string of local mischiefs

Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man accused of leaving a trail of destruction in his wake in Chatham.

Police said they found him after they received a call about a man attempting to break a window to a business on St. Clair Street at around 3:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers said they found a suspect in the area and arrested him without incident.

Through their investigation, police were able to connect the man to seven occurrences of mischief that all took place in the surrounding area and charged him accordingly.

He was then taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

A 36-year-old Chatham man who was wanted by police has been arrested after officers were called to a dispute in Chatham early Tuesday morning.

Police said once they arrived at the scene, they learned that one of the people who was involved -- a 36-year-old Chatham man -- was wanted on an outstanding warrant, so he was arrested.

Officers also learned that the man needed medical attention, so he was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was set to remain in custody until he was released from care.

Another arrest on an outstanding warrant

A 29-year-old Chatham man who found his way onto the local police force's naughty list has been arrested.

Police said a patrol officer found him in Chatham early Tuesday morning and arrested him. He was later released with a future court date.
