Children's Treatment Centre receives $5K donation for speech therapy

The Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent has received a generous donation in support of its speech-language therapy program.

The Sertoma Foundation of Canada presented the CTC with a $5,000 cheque on Tuesday to help the centre to continue therapy through virtual practices.

During the pandemic, families have been required to use a home computer, or iPad in order for their child to see a therapist and participate in prescribed activities. Most families have been able to accommodate the changes, while others with limited means have missed out.

“The donation from the Sertoma Foundation of Canada allows us to purchase much-needed equipment to loan to children with speech-language needs that cannot participate without loaned equipment.” said Mike Genge, President of CTC Foundation.

Over the last five years, the foundation has provided significant, annual support to the Chatham-Kent CTC helping children of all abilities, reach their full potential.
