Family dispute in Tilbury ends with injuries, charges
Two men have been arrested and charged after a family argument at a residence in Tilbury turned violent Tuesday night.
Chatham-Kent police said their investigation showed that the argument escalated to the point where one of the men punched holes into the drywall and bit another family member.
He also allegedly threw a chair and a paper towel roll with its hold rack at two family members who were in the home at the time.
A 24-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with assault, mischief, and two counts of assault with a weapon and was taken into police custody pending a bail hearing.
A 39-year-old man who was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident was also arrested and charged with assault. He was later released pending a future court date.

Man arrested for after visit to local motel
A 26-year-old man of no fixed address is taking up a temporary residence in police custody after he was allegedly caught breaking his release conditions.
Police said the man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police received a disturbance call at a local motel in Chatham.
Officers said their investigation showed that the man had visited the motel even though he had been ordered to stay away from it.
He was arrested a short distance from the scene, charged with two counts of breaching his conditional sentence order, and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Shoplifting complaint leads to charges
A 46-year-old man of no fixed address has been arrested and charged in connection with a shoplifting incident at Shoppers Drug Mart on Grand Avenue in Chatham.
Police said they were called to the store Tuesday night.
They arrested the man, charged him with theft and possession of property obtained by crime, and released him with a future court date.

Two arrests after police check out suspicious vehicle
Chatham-Kent police were able to do London police and OPP a favour early Wednesday morning by arresting two people who were wanted by those services on outstanding warrants.
Police said they arrested the pair while an officer was investigating a suspicious vehicle parked in a parking lot on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
According to police, a check of the license plates showed that they were not registered to the vehicle and after investigating further, the officer learned that both the driver and her passenger were wanted by other police forces.
Officers said the driver -- a 34-year-old woman -- and her passenger -- a 34-year-old man -- were not supposed to be communicating with each other or in each other's presence, either, so they were both charged with failing to comply with their release conditions.
Both of them were taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Police are currently recruiting for Emergency Communications Operators to fill 2021 vacancies -- the deadline to apply is December 31, 2020.
They are also hiring for the position of Cadet / Constable -- the deadline to apply for that is January 15, 2021.
