Man accused of hitting victim in the face with a machete
Chatham-Kent police are looking for a 34-year-old man who allegedly attacked someone with a machete in Wallaceburg.
Police said the accused was speaking with the alleged victim on Pond Road just outside of Wallaceburg at around 5 p.m. Monday when they got into an argument.
At that time the man allegedly confronted the victim with a machete he had retrieved from his vehicle and hit the victim in the face with the blade, causing about a 5-inch cut.
Investigators said the victim took off and was able to drive himself to the hospital.
The man accused of hitting him with the machete is wanted for several charged including aggravated assault, uttering death threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.
Police have a warrant for his arrest, but they have not released his name to the public.

Off-duty officer arrests accused shoplifter
An off-duty Chatham-Kent police officer was able to stop a man accused of shoplifting from a Chatham business on Monday.
Officers said just before 10 a.m. Mondy, the man placed about $140 worth of merchandise in two bags at a grocery store on St. Clair Street and then became belligerent and dumped one of the bags when management approached him.
Police said an off-duty CKPS officer then verbally identified himself to the man and presented his police credentials before making the arrest.
A 47-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft, possession of property obtained by crime, and resisting a peace officer.
He was later released from custody with a future court date.

Don't fall victim to Bitcoin scam
Chatham-Kent police are reminding the public to be wary of a telephone Bitcoin scam that is making the rounds.
Police said someone is calling around identifying himself or herself as an officer with the Chatham-Kent Police Service.
The caller then advises that someone has set up fake accounts in your name and adds that there is going to be a warrant for your arrest and that in order to prove your innocence, you are required to send a specific amount of Bitcoin, which will allegedly be returned to you later.
Police are reminding you to never send money to anyone who is indicating that you will be arrested if you do not send them money.
