Smile Cookies raise big money for Children's Treatment Centre

The Children's Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent has over 34,000 reasons to smile.

The Tim Hortons locations owned by the Pritchard family and Mike and Paula Grail in Chatham, Wallaceburg, and Dresden sold smile cookies from September 14-20 and raised $34,970.40 for the CTC Foundation.

That total is up over $4,000 from last year's campaign, and an increase of over $10,000 compared to 2018.

"Communities coming together during these difficult times is more important than ever," said local Tim Hortons owner Mike Grail. "We are proud to present this cheque, alongside Guy, Jessica and our restaurant team members, to support our local children."

The money raised will go to programs at the Children's Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent that are not covered by government funding.

Programs like social work, therapeutic recreation services, and music therapy are all funded by the CTC Foundation. The CTC served over 5,000 children in 2020, which is equivalent to one in every five Chatham-Kent children.

The 2020 Smile Cookie Campaign held in Tilbury, Ridgetown, Thamesville and Blenheim raised $16,881 for the Chatham-Kent Student Nutrition Program.
