Traffic stop leads to charges

A man will have to answer to charges after getting pulled over in Chatham.

It started when police attempted to stop a vehicle on Lacroix Street. The driver did not stop for the officer initially and tried to pull into a driveway.

The driver was identified and found to be prohibited from driving. He was charged with two counts of prohibited driving, flight from police and failing to stop for police.

The man was eventually released with a future court date.

Suspect tries to break into garage

Chatham-Kent police are reminding the public to lock their garages and vehicles to help prevent thefts.

The reminder comes after someone tried to break into a garage on Heather Drive in Chatham.

The suspect made several attempts to enter the garage but was ultimately unable to open the window and left.

Elsewhere, a detached garage was entered on Kensington Street in Wallaceburg.

The suspect damaged the garage while trying to get inside, however, nothing was taken.
