Not all services will be unavailable on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving traditions may be scaled back, for the most part, this year but it will be recognized in some capacity.

In recognition of the holiday, some services and programs under the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and Municipality of Chatham-Kent may not be available on October 12.

However, the COVID-19 Assessment Centre at the St. Clair College HealthPlex in Chatham will be open on the holiday Monday with regular hours.

Routine x-rays, electrocardiograms and ultrasounds will not be available on Monday at the hospitals in Chatham and Wallaceburg.

The Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program Out-Patient Department, as well as the Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic will be closed on October 12. Those who experience a crisis are asked to call 1-866-299-7447 or visit the nearest emergency room.

Municipal offices will be closed on the holiday Monday. The closures include the Health and Family Services building, Employment and Social Services, Housing Services, Child Care and Early Years, and Public Health.

Waste and recycling collection will be delayed by one day this week. The Harwich Transfer Station, Wallaceburg Transfer Station, and Chatham Leaf and Yard Depot will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.

CK Transit will not be picking up patrons on Monday.

Public libraries will also be closed on Monday. However, operations under reduced hours will continue throughout the week.
