Thief takes off with 100 tires from Tilbury auto dealership

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone broke into six storage containers at Lally Sales and Service on Mill Street in Tilbury and stole approximately 100 brand new truck tires.

Police said it's believed the break-in took place sometime late Sunday night or early Monday morning.

The total value of the stolen tires is estimated at $30,000 and the damage caused during the incident is estimated at $500.

ATV reported stolen in Wallaceburg

Police are also trying to track down a 2005 camo Polaris Sportsman ATV that was reported stolen from a residence on Minnie Street in Wallaceburg.

Officers said that was taken sometime between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Monday.

The stolen ATV has an estimated value of $4,000.

Teen accused of assaulting her mom

A 14-year-old Chatham girl is charged with assault after a family dispute allegedly turned violent in Chatham Monday morning.

Polcie said after they were called to the residence, they learned that a teen girl had allegedly assaulted her mom during an argument.

As a result, the girl was arrested, charged, and later released to a family member pending a future court date.

Security camera videos damaged at apartment building

A 31-year-old Chatham man has been charged with mischief after he allegedly damaged two security camera videos inside an apartment building in Chatham.

Police said they arrested the man after receiving a mischief complaint Sunday night, adding that through their investigation, they learned that one of the tenants inside the building had caused the damage.

The accused was arrested Monday morning, charged, and later released pending a future court date.

Suspect who allegedly fled crash scenes identified, arrested

A 44-year-old Wallaceburg man who was wanted for failing to remain at two separate crashes in the Wallaceburg area earlier this month has been arrested.

Police said they were able identify the man after circulating his photo on social media.

He was arrested Monday night, charged, and later released with a future court date.

Traffic stop leads to charges

A 30-year-old Sombra Township man who wasn't supposed to be driving is facing charges now after police pulled him over on Murray Street in Wallaceburg.

Officers said an officer on general patrol made the stop Monday morning and learned that the man had been suspended from driving for both unpaid fines and demerit points.

The driver was charged accordingly and will be required to attend the Provincial Offences Court in December.

His vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
