More municipal centres reopening in CK

Municipal offices in Chatham-Kent are starting to reopen.

The centres in Blenheim, Ridgetown, Tilbury, and Wallaceburg will all be open on September 8 at 8:30 a.m.

"With the September 11 tax payment due date approaching, we continue to encourage customers to place documents and payments (i.e. tax, water/hydro, permits, fines) in the secure drop-box outside," Director of Customer Service Leanne Segeren-Swayze said in a news release.

The municipality added customers should expect increased wait times, social distancing, maximum customer capacity signage, and extended waiting areas at each office when they reopen. Customers will not be screened before entering, however they are reminded to wear face masks and to sanitize their hands when entering.

The municipality said customer access will be limited to the designated customer service areas only. Some offices,  such as the Civic Centre, the Chatham Service Ontario office on Grand Avenue, and the Dresden Service Ontario office and municipal centre are already operating under regular business hours and services. Customers can call 519-360-1998 or email ckinfo@chatham-kent.ca to get information about service options such as phone and online payments.
