Man found passed out behind the wheel

A man has a future court date after allegedly falling asleep behind the wheel while drunk in Dresden.

It started around 2:49 a.m. Saturday when police got a call about a suspicious vehicle in the middle of the road in the area of Base Line and Dawn Mills Road.  The vehicle had stopped in the oncoming traffic lane.

Officers arrived and found a man passed out in the driver's seat of the vehicle.

The man was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the police station where he registered twice the legal limit for alcohol in his system.

Once sober, he was released with a future court date.

Break and enter in Wallaceburg

It was a scary discovery for an individual in Wallaceburg who returned to their Thomas Avenue apartment to find someone else inside.

The suspect allegedly entered the apartment through an unlocked bedroom window.

The man refused to leave and the police were called. He was arrested for break and enter and taken to police headquarters. He was eventually released with a future court date.

Warrant arrest in Chatham

CK police were able to find a man that was wanted on an outstanding warrant on theft, possession, and mischief.

He was located at an address on Emma Street in Chatham.

The man was arrested and subsequently released with a future court date.

Warrant arrest for outside agency

A woman was located in Sarnia that has two outstanding warrants from Chatham-Kent including fail to appear.

She was released in Sarnia by Chatham-Kent officers with a future court date.

Editor's Note: A correction was made to the first story in police briefs, "Man found passed out behind the wheel". Chatham-Kent police originally said the man was charged with care and control of a motor vehicle, however, a correction was issued on Saturday evening to state the man was actually charged with impaired driving.
