August 16, 2020 5:59pm
Environment Canada has ended a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of southwestern Ontario.
Even though temperatures dropped slightly on Sunday, a severe thunderstorm watch was issued for Chatham-Kent, and Western Elgin County on Sunday shortly before 5:30 p.m.
Meteorologists said conditions were favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds and heavy rain.
A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for the area on Saturday as well due to hot and humid conditions, but the weather statement was dropped around 9 p.m.
