Two men allegedly assaulted by woman who knows them

A 39-year-old Chatham woman is facing charges after allegedly breaking into the home of two men she knows and then allegedly assaulting them.

Chatham-Kent police said they responded to the call on Sunday, adding that the woman was arrested, charged, and then released pending a future court date.

Woman wanted by three police services arrested in Chatham

The law has come calling for a 34-year-old woman who was wanted by multiple police services.

Chatham-Kent police said they arrested the woman at a local motel in Chatham after getting a call about an unwanted man and woman there.

Officers said when they found the pair, the woman allegedly falsely identified herself to police.

After officers determined her true identity, they learned that she was wanted by three other police services.

The 34-year-old woman was arrested and charged with obstructing police, then released from CK police custody with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested after throwing plate at his adult sister

A 21-year-old man is facing an assault charge after police were called in to investigate a family dispute between some adult siblings in Howard Township.

Police said the man is accused of throwing a plate at his sister, which hit her in the leg. She reportedly suffered a "minor injury" as a result of the incident.

The accused was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. He was later released pending a future court date.

Suspicious man found in small hut on Talbot Trail

A 24-year-old Kingsville man is in more trouble with police after he was allegedly found sleeping in a small hut in the backyard of a property on Talbot Trail.

Chatham-Kent police said they found the man while they were responding to a call about a suspicious person at around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

When officers found the man, they learned that he was currently bound by conditions not to leave his residence -- which was not the small hut where they found him.

As a result, he was arrested and when police searched him, they allegedly found some crystal methamphetamine on him even though he had also been previously ordered not to possess any illegal drugs.

The accused was charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Cordless drill, batteries, charger stolen during break-in

Chatham-Kent police are working to track down some leads after someone broke into an unlocked shop on Beechwood Line in Ridgetown and took off with some power tools.

Police said the break-in took place sometime between August 6-9, adding that whoever broke in, stole a Makita cordless impact drill, two Makita drill batteries, a Makita charger, and a key for a 1990 Yamaha RZ 350 motorcycle.

The suspect is also accused of doing about $1,000 in damage to the tonneau cover of a truck that was on the property.
