Weapons arrest at police headquarters

A man is in trouble with the law after allegedly running at police officers with a weapon.

It happened at police headquarters. Officers were investigating a domestic incident and observed the accused ride past the police station on his bike.

Police located the 31-year-old outside after he has just used a knife to damage a car in the parking lot.

When officers approached the man, he allegedly began to run at them with the knife in hand.

However, officers were able to act quickly and successfully deployed a taser on the man.

He was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.

Man injured in work accident 

The Ministry of Labour has taken over an investigation after a work-related incident in Chatham-Kent.

According to police, around noon on Saturday, a man was working on a vehicle at South Buxton Raceway.

During this time, the vehicle tipped over. As a result, the man received a head injury.

Paramedics arrived and the 58-year-old was taken to the hospital.

Theft at local youth camp 

Police are investigating after a break and enter at St. Vincent de Paul Camp.

It happened sometime this weekend. According to police, unknown suspects entered several buildings on the property and stole an undetermined amount of items.

Woman arrested on domestic charge

A boat trip on Saturday evening ended with one woman in handcuffs.

Around 5:30 p.m., police received a call for a disturbance on a boat on the Thames River.

When officers arrived, the people on the boat refused to come to shore when requested.

With the help of the CK fire department, officers were able to board the boat.

After investigation, a 34-year-old was arrested on domestic-related charges and eventually released with a future court date.

Theft at Wallaceburg LCBO

Police are looking for two suspects who broke into the LCBO in Wallaceburg in a unique way.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday, the pair arrived at the LCBO on an ATV and smashed the glass door with an axe to get inside.

Once inside, the suspects managed to get away with an undetermined amount of alcohol.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Man arrested for assault 

A man has a future court date after an altercation in Chatham Saturday night.

Police responded to George Street after getting a report of an assault.

Two people had been involved in a physical altercation resulting in one person with head injuries.

As a result, a 46-year-old man was arrested for assault before eventually being released.

Two break and enters in Wallaceburg

Police are looking for information from the public after two separate break and enters on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Sometime over the past few days, unknown suspects broke into the shed of a residence.

The suspects got away with a battery and a yard sprayer.

Elsewhere, sometime overnight on August 7-8, unknown suspects cut their way into a shed located on a property. Nothing was reported stolen.

Anyone with information on either incident is encouraged to call police.

Man arrested on warrants

Saturday night around 6 p.m., officers on general patrol in the Gray Street area of Chatham located a man who was wanted on outstanding warrants.

The 28-year-old was arrested and later released with a future court date in September.
