Break-in targets Wallaceburg property

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after someone broke into a shed at a property on Otter Line in Wallaceburg.

It's believed the break-in took place sometime over the past two days.

Police did not release any information on what -- if anything -- was taken. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Cst. Bakker.

Suspected arson in Chatham

Police are investigating after someone started a fire at a home on Tweedsmuir Avenue in Chatham on Wednesday.

Investigators said the homeowner reported finding burn marks and a strong smell of gasoline beside her side door and some damage to a water hose from the fire.

Various items stolen during Chatham break-in

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after someone broke into a garage on Whitebirch Trail in Chatham and took off with a bike, a saw, a helmet, and some sunglasses.

Police said it was reported on Wednesday, August 5.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Cst. Hamm.

Man found with fentanyl after traffic stop

A Chatham-Kent man has been arrested after police allegedly found a small amount of fentanyl on him during a recent traffic stop.

Police said they pulled him over and arrested him on an outstanding warrant -- that's also when officers found the drugs.

The accused was taken to police headquarters and later released him with a future court date.

Two arrests involving bear spray

Chatham-Kent police have arrested two people in connection with an incident in Chatham where two people were hit with bear spray.

Police said the first suspect allegedly sprayed a minor during a disturbance.

Officers said their investigation showed that a second person had disarmed the first suspect and sprayed him with the bear spray.

Both of the accused were charged with weapons offences.

Booze stolen during break-in

Police are investigating after someone broke into a garage on Victoria Street in Thamesville and stole about $200 worth of alcohol.

Investigators said it's believed the theft took place sometime between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

Arrest made after business break-in

Chatham-Kent police have made an arrest after someone broke into a business on Richmond Street in Chatham on Monday and stole a gym bag with shoes, a wallet, and $80 inside it.

Police said after reviewing video surveillance, they were able to identify a suspect who was later arrested and charged with break and enter.

Suspect arrested after taking vehicle keys from Tilbury business

A suspect has been arrested and charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property after allegedly breaking into a business in Tilbury and taking off with a vehicle and various other vehicle keys.

Police said the accused broke into the business through an open window Wednesday evening, grabbed some keys, and fled the area in a Chevrolet Cobalt that belonged to the business.

A suspect was arrested a short time later.
