Dates announced for additional CK mobile testing clinics

More drive-thru COVID-19 testing is coming to the municipality.

This time the mobile testing clinics will take place in Wheatley and Dresden. The purpose of the drive-thru clinics is to provide a COVID-19 swab test to anyone who believes they require one. The initiative is also available to residents who don't arrive in a vehicle and appointments are not required.

The Wheatley clinic will take place on Tuesday, August 11 and Wednesday, August 12 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Wheatley Arena.

Meanwhile, the Dresden clinic is set for Tuesday, August 25 and Wednesday, August 26 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Dresden Raceway.

Signage will be displayed at both locations to direct residents where to go upon their arrival. Anyone who plans to attend the mobile clinics is asked to bring a valid Ontario health card.

Previous clinics held across Chatham-Kent have proved to be a success.

CKHA Vice President of People and Chief Nursing Executive Lisa Northcott previously told Blackburn News that at one of the latest clinics, held in Thamesville, over 500 people were tested.

Previously, 457 people were swabbed at the clinic in Tilbury over the course of two days in July.

Following a swab test, results are made available on the Government of Ontario's website.

The COVID-19 Assessment Centre in Chatham also remains available for residents. The facility is located at 47 Emma St. and is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
