Call about drunk driver leads to arrest 

An observant citizen is to thank for helping get an allegedly impaired driver off the road.

Police responded to reports of a possible drunk driver around 4 a.m. Saturday. Officers went to the area of Bear Line Road in Chatham and, along with help from the citizen, were able to locate the vehicle.

Through investigation, police found the man to be driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.

The 25-year-old was released pending a future court date of August 14.

Woman charged after dispute with boyfriend turns physical 

A 28-year-old will have to go before a judge after getting arrested in Chatham.

On Friday night police were called to a domestic altercation taking place on Lorne Avenue.

Through investigation, officers learned that the woman had allegedly assaulted her boyfriend by hitting him in the face.

She was charged and arrested before eventually being released with a future court date.

Man arrested for disturbance

Friday night, while patrolling on King Street West, auxiliary members saw a man causing a disturbance near the mall.

Patrol officers went to speak with the man. As a result of his continued disturbing behaviour, the 47-year-old Chatham man was arrested for breaching the peace.

Man charged for breaching curfew

An early morning traffic stop in Chatham resulted in an arrest.

It happened around 1 a.m. Saturday when officers were on general patrol in the area of Park Lane.

The driver was found in violation of his recognizance curfew. He had previously been released from court on March 1 and given a condition to obey a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The 30-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged pending a future court date.
