ATVs stolen during break and enter

Two ATVs and several tools were stolen from a residence on Kent Bridge Road sometime overnight on July 14th.

A camo 2007 Yamaha Kodiak ATV 450 was reported stolen, along with a green 2009 Suzuki L40 400 King Quad with Ontario marker 59WH2.

Police are asking citizens to alert them if they see either ATVs. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 519-436-6600 extension 87174 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Traffic stop leads to theft charges

Chatham-Kent police stopped a vehicle on Base Line Road in Wallaceburg on Wednesday evening because the license plates on the vehicle did not match.

Further investigation revealed that both the plates on the vehicle had been reported stolen in two separate theft complaints.

A 31-year-old Ridgetown man is charged with theft and possession of property obtained by a crime. He was released pending a future court date.

OPP arrest impaired driver

A Walpole Island man is facing charges after getting pulled over by Lambton OPP in St. Clair Township.

Police pulled over a vehicle around 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday for a Highway Traffic Act infraction.

The officer suspected the driver of drinking alcohol and conducted a roadside breath test, which registered as a fail. The man was arrested and taken to the OPP detachment where two samples were taken.

The 51-year-old driver was charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

Traffic stop leads to license suspension

A 62-year-old man will have to walk around for the next week after getting pulled over by Chatham-Kent police.

Officers stopped a vehicle shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday after receiving a call about a possible impaired driver.

A roadside test was conducted. The driver was issued a seven-day licence suspension, his driver's licence was seized and his vehicle was towed.

Shoplifting leads to charges

A Chatham man wanted in connection with a shoplifting complaint earlier this month has been arrested.

Police said the 41-year-old man was a suspect in a shoplifting incident at Shoppers Drug Mart in Chatham on July 8th.

Officers located and arrested the man on Wednesday. He was charged with theft and being in possession of property obtained by a crime. He was released pending a future court date.

Tickets handed out during traffic enforcement

Over the past two days, platoon members conducted enforcement on Charing Cross Road and Devon Drive in Chatham.

Fourteen provincial offence tickets were handed out, along with three summons, and three warnings.
