Golf Cart Crash

A young person was airlifted to a hospital in London after getting pinned underneath a golf cart on Sunday.

Police in Chatham-Kent said two youths flipped over the cart while on private property.

Family members had to up-right the golf cart.

Police said the young person did not sustain serious injuries and should be released soon from the hospital once all test results are returned.

Mischief in Wheatley

Chatham-Kent police are looking for whoever smashed the rear window of a vehicle in Wheatley.

Investigators said it happened sometime overnight on Sunday. Police believe no one entered the vehicle and nothing was taken.

Damage is estimated at approximately $300.

Domestic Assault

A search warrant has been issued for a Chatham man accused of domestic assault.

Police received a complaint on Sunday afternoon.

A 40-year-old man from Chatham is wanted for several offences, including threats, two counts of assault, assault causing bodily harm, and mischief under $5,000.

No Hot Pets

Chatham-Kent police are reminding the public to not leave their pets inside of hot vehicles.

"This summer, treat your pet like family. Leave them at home where it’s cool and safe," said Constable Sherri Keller.

Residents should call PAWR at 226-996-9969 if a pet is spotted inside of a hot car or call 911 if the animal is in distress.

Fraud Warning

Chatham-Kent police continue to receive reports of suspicious phone calls from people claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency.

They said scammers may use threatening language or an aggressive tone to scare you into making payments.

Police are reminding the public that personal or financial information should never be given over the phone, especially if you didn’t initiate the call.
