Fatal collision in Chatham-Kent 

Police are investigating after a collision near Tilbury that claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

It happened around 7 p.m. Saturday. Emergency crews responded to a crash at the intersection of Middle Line and Davidson Road that involved a car and a motorcycle.

According to police,  the motorcycle was travelling west on Middle Line and the car was travelling east on Middle Line when the collision occurred.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where he passed away from his injuries.

The collision is under investigation by the CKPS Traffic Management Unit.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Chatham-Kent Police.

Arrest for public intoxication 

A man had to spend some time with police after having too much to drink

Officers received a call around 3 p.m. Saturday that a man was sitting on a bench intoxicated outside a store.

When police arrived, the man was found passed out on the bench.

Officers tried to place the man in the care of a relative but were ultimately were unsuccessful.

As a result, the man was arrested for public intoxication and held in police custody until he was sober.
