Neighbours put out small fire in Tilbury

Damage is estimated at $500 after the siding on a house on Pearl Street in Tilbury caught fire.

Chatham-Kent police said the neighbours extinguished the blaze, and their quick action prevented major damage to the home.

Officials say the fire is not suspicious.

Rollover crash leads to charges

Chatham-Kent police were called to a single-vehicle rollover on Pinehurst Line.

Police said the driver was not injured, but their licence was suspended.

As a result of the investigation, the driver was charged with careless driving and driving while under suspension.

Theft from barn under investigation

A Honda power washer and a 200 ft hose were reported stolen from a barn on Langstaff Line.

Police said the break and enter occurred something overnight on Saturday, July 4.

Driver caught stunt driving

A motorist who was caught driving way too fast on Middle Line will be walking for a week.

An officer pulled the vehicle over after recording it going 160 km/h in a 90 km/h zone. The driver was charged with stunt driving, his licence was suspended, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
