Crews battle multiple fires in Chatham-Kent

Firefighters in Chatham-Kent were busy overnight battling several blazes in the municipality.

Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, crews from Blenheim and Erieau responded to a small detached garage fire on Talbot Trail.

Damage is estimated at around $30,000. No injuries are being reported and the cause is currently undetermined yet not considered suspicious.

Then around 3:30 a.m., crews from Wallaceburg and Chatham responded to an apartment fire on Murray Street in Wallaceburg.

No one was injured. The cause is being listed as accidental and damage is pegged around $75,000.

In addition, early Saturday morning police responded to a fire on Balmoral Line near Jeannettes Creek.

An individual passing by called 9-1-1 to report a shed on fire. The shed was burnt to the ground

There were no injuries and its believed that there was no property inside the shed. The cause is unknown at this time.
