Chatham drug bust leads to a trio of arrests

Three Chatham residents are facing drug trafficking charges after police searched a residence in Chatham on Thursday.

Police said officers found about $19,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine along with some digital scales and a large quantity of cash while they were executing the search warrant.

As a result of the investigation, 37-year-old Stacey McDonald of Ingram Street in Chatham, and 57-year-old Dewhyne Labadie of Ingram Street in Chatham were both charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking. They were later released with a future court date.

Police also arrested 31-year-old Anthony Peterkin of Ingram Street in Chatham. He was charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with his release conditions. He was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

At this point, none of the allegations have been proven in court.
