Spray painter wanted for tagging local building

Chatham-Kent police have released a photo of a man who they say was caught on video spray-painting the acronyms BLM and FTP on the side of a building in Chatham.

Police are appealing to the public for help to identify the man pictured below in connection with the incident, which took place at Heritage Credit Union on Merritt Avenue earlier this month.

Officers said the man was last seen wearing a red toque, a black shirt, black pants, and sunglasses -- he was also carrying a grey backpack.

Bottle of booze dispute fuels domestic assault

An argument over a bottle of vodka appears to have sparked an incident of domestic violence at a residence just outside of Wallaceburg.

Police said a man and a woman were arguing about that Tuesday night when things got physical.

Investigators said the woman tried to leave the home several times, but the man wouldn't let her. Police said she was eventually able to grab her phone and call 911 while she was running away.

She reported non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.

A 51-year-old Wallaceburg man was later arrested and charged with assault and forcible confinement. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested after keying neighbour's truck

A 23-year-old Ridgetown man is charged with mischief and uttering threats after he allegedly scratched up his neighbour's truck.

Police said the man allegedly "keyed" his neighbour's truck at an apartment complex in Ridgetown Tuesday night and then threatened the neighbour when he was confronted about it.

The accused was arrested, charged, and taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Industrial accident in Ridgetown

The Ministry of Labour is investigating an industrial accident that took place at a business on Marsh Street in Ridgetown Tuesday morning.

Police said a 21-year-old man was taken to the hospital for medical attention after the incident.

No further details were provided at this time.
