Pair arrested for drug possession 

Two men will have to appear in court this summer after allegedly being in possession of meth.

On Sunday, police were on general patrol in Wallaceburg in the area of McNaughton Avenue. Officers observed a 29-year-old man and a 60-year-old man, both residents of Walpole Island.

Through investigation, police discovered that both men were in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

They were arrested and then released on a Form 9 with a future court date in August.

Man caught going against release conditions 

Police were able to nab a man for allegedly busting two of his parole conditions.

While on patrol on Park Street in Chatham on Sunday, officers observed him driving a motor vehicle although it was against his release conditions. Police also knew that he was supposed to be on house arrest.

When they tried to stop the vehicle, the man got out and ran into a back yard. Officers followed and tried to arrest him, which he resisted. They eventually arrested him and he was taken to the police station where he was held for a bail hearing.

Man arrested for assault

A dispute between a couple allegedly turned physical.

Around 8:46 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a domestic dispute on Dover Street in Chatham.

A woman had called reporting that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. Officers arrested the man for two counts of assault.

He was taken to police headquarters and held for bail.

Driver nabbed for impaired 

A call from an alert citizen led to charges.

Police received a driving complaint around 10:30 p.m. Sunday about a vehicle on Arkwood Road in Chatham.

Officers searched the area and were able to locate the vehicle. It was stopped by police and the driver failed the breathalyzer and was then brought to the police station.

The driver registered over 200 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood and was eventually released with a future court date
