UPDATE: Police seize $330K worth of drugs during bust at Chatham hotel room

Three people are facing dozens of charges after Chatham-Kent police found weapons and illegal drugs in a hotel room in Chatham.

Police said the investigation started when police received a call about a suspicious man at a local hotel Tuesday afternoon.

When officers showed up at the man's room, they found three people inside along with "a significant quantity of illegal drugs and weapons."

Police said a man and two women were arrested, adding that officers taped off the scene pending further investigation, which included executing a search warrant.

In total, police said they seized $330,000 worth of suspected fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine. Officers also confiscated a 9mm handgun, some ammunition, and $15,980 in cash.

The three people who were arrested were charged with a total of 40 offences including possession for the purposes of drug trafficking, weapon-related offences, and failing to comply with court orders.

36-year-old Jeremy Neely of Grand Avenue East in Chatham, 34-year-old Robyn Marchand of Baldoon Road in Chatham, and 29-year-old Amber Tasker of Park Street in Dresden were all taken into custody pending a future court date.

Tasker was also charged on Friday with careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, and failing to comply with a peace bond after officers found a loaded Ruger 10/22 rifle in a vehicle on Grand Avenue on Wednesday.
