Four newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Chatham-Kent.
The local public health unit reported on Wednesday that the total number of confirmed cases has gone from 90 to 94. The number of active cases also went up from six to eight. The two new active cases are from Greenhill Produce, which brings its active cases of the virus from three to five. The number of people at Greenhill Produce who have recovered has also gone from 49 to 50. The new total number of COVID-19 cases at Greenhill now stands at 55 from the previous number of 52.
CK Public Health said a total of 85 people have recovered from the virus in Chatham-Kent and the death toll is still at one, which was reported early in the pandemic.
The number of Chatham-Kent residents in the hospital recovering from the coronavirus and the number of local long term care residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 both remain at zero.
Local public health officials are waiting for 43 test results. More than 2,100 people in Chatham-Kent have been tested since the swabbing began.
Separate from the community testing, CK Public Health said the testing of nearly 2,000 residents and staff in the seven local long term care homes has been completed and test results for 3 residents and 28 staff are still pending.
There are still no outbreaks at any long term care facility in Chatham-Kent.
