CKTransit makes additional adjustments

A few more slight service changes are coming to CKTransit routes this week.

Starting on Tuesday, Routes 1, 2, 3 and 4 will operate from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday on a 30-minute schedule. Route 5 will operate from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday every 60 minutes.

Chatham and Wallaceburg Accessible will operate from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday while Sunday service remains suspended.

The 6:45 p.m. departure for Inter-Urban Routes A, C, and D also remain suspended. All other Inter-Urban route departure times from the Chatham Terminal are operating.

The municipality has also halted the CKTransit On-Request evening service for the time being.

Bus operators will be making sure to enforce social distancing measures by not allowing more than six riders at a time and riders are also reminded to only use public transit for essential trips.

"Essential travel means riders requiring transit service to get to and from work, or to secure essential goods and services," municipal officers said in a press release.

Anyone with flu-like symptoms is being asked to stay home.
