Three arrests on warrants

Chatham-Kent police have caught up with three people who were all wanted on outstanding warrants for a variety of offences.

And two of the three accused turned themselves in.

A 28-year-old Walpole Island man who was wanted for mischief and failing to comply with his release conditions turned himself in at CK police headquarters Monday morning.

A 27-year-old Cottam man who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions and breaching his probation order also turned himself in on Monday.

The third arrest took place early Tuesday morning -- police said they found a woman who was wanted for fraud-related offences and arrested her in Wallaceburg.

All three of the accused were charged and later released with a future court date.

Charge laid after crash in Wallaceburg

A 63-year-old man has been charged with following too closely in connection with a Monday morning crash in Wallaceburg.

Police said the two-vehicle collision took place on Dufferin Avenue near Ash Street.

No injuries were reported and the damage was estimated at $5,000.

Green Shirt day for organ donation

Chatham-Kent police are noting that today, April 7, is being marked as "Green Shirt Day" in honour of Logan Boulet, who was among the 16 victims who lost their lives as a result of the Humboldt Broncos bus tragedy in 2018.

Logan was an organ donor and saved six peoples’ lives.
