Pair charged in commercial break-in

Two men from Walpole Island have been charged following break and enters at commercial properties in St. Clair Township on March 31.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers were called to the two properties on Polymoore Drive at around 9 a.m. after the break-ins were discovered. Following an investigation, police identified two suspects through surveillance video.

Kenneth Sprague, 22, and Joseph Shipman, 21, both of Walpole Island, were later arrested during a traffic stop. Both men are charged with two counts of break and enter to commit an indictable offence, two counts of mischief and failing to comply with a probation order. Shipman is also charged with two additional counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Both men have been released with a future court date.
