Officers take precaution during pandemic

As local police officers try to do their part to limit the spread of COVID-19, residents are asked to refrain from going to a police facility -- unless necessary.

If an officer is needed at a location for a non-emergency incident, callers will be asked health-related questions as part of a screening protocol. Officers will continue to respond to emergency situations, however, they may be wearing gloves or masks for their own protection.

Residents are being reminded that non-emergency incidents can be reported to police through an online tool, via the CKPS website.

Police clearance checks can also be done online. Those with questions are encouraged to call (519) 436- 6600 extension 221 or visit a dedication web page for police checks.
