Man steals meat from Walmart

A man who was arrested after stealing from Walmart was not even supposed to be there in the first place.

It started around 7:30 p.m. Saturday when police got reports that a man shoplifted from the Walmart in Wallaceburg and then drove away on his bike.

The suspect was located with a bag full of meat he had taken and other items from the store. He admitted to shoplifting and was arrested for theft and possession.

It was also revealed that he was on a recognizance not to attend Walmart and had an outstanding warrant. As a result, he was also charged with failing to comply with a release order.

He was held for bail.

Argument leads to arrest

A man got into trouble with police after a fight with his ex.

Police said it happened on Murray Street in Wallaceburg around 2 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, it started as a verbal argument between the two parties. The man then proceeded to kick and damage the woman's vehicle, causing damage.

He was located and charged with mischief.

Mischief charge for window smasher

A woman had to spend some time with police after going on a mini rampage through the streets of Chatham.

Officers said they first got the call around 11 p.m. Saturday about a woman out of control, yelling and smashing windows at an address on Murray Street.

She allegedly fled from officers and continued to smash windows.

She was eventually arrested for mischief and held in police custody until sober.

Man arrested under liquor licence act

Reports of a disturbance in Chatham led to one man being arrested.

Officers responded to the call in the area of Van Allen Avenue around 11 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, a man and woman were in a verbal dispute. Police say the man was drunk and refused to listen to officers.

He was arrested for being intoxicated in public and held until sober.
