Man arrested for pointing firearm 

A 42-year-old Chatham man is facing multiple charges after allegedly pointing a fake gun at his girlfriend.

It happened around 1 a.m. Sunday when police responded to a domestic dispute call that was placed by a third party.

Police went to the scene and located the suspect along with the replica firearm that he had tried to throw out.

He was arrested and charged with failing to comply with release conditions, weapons offences, and breach of probation. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

Man arrested after fight 

A man is in trouble with the law after a physical altercation with another man.

Police responded to an assault complaint around 6:45 p.m. Saturday at a residence in Chatham.

Officers learned that a fight occurred between a 36-year-old man and a 35-year-old man.

The 36-year-old allegedly punched the other man. As a result, he was charged with assault as well as with uttering death threats.

He was taken to police headquarters and eventually released with a future court date.

Man arrested for theft 

Police had to arrest a man after a theft at a Wallaceburg business.

Cops got the call shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday however, the suspect was able to leave the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived.

Police used a vehicle description to eventually locate the suspect in Chatham.

The stolen property was recovered and the 25-year-old was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained in a crime under $5,000.

He was given a future court date and eventually released.

Woman arrested on warrant 

A traffic stop landed a woman in hot water with the law.

Police conducted the stop at 5 p.m. Saturday in Chatham. Officers learned that one of the people in the vehcile, a 34-year-old from Wallaceburg, was wanted on several outstanding warrants.

She was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters and booked into custody to be held for a bail hearing.

Male arrested on warrant 

A man was arrested after getting recognized by police.

Officers noticed the man Saturday afternoon and knew he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

The 48-year-old from Chatham was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
