Man arrested for dispute with grandpa

A man is in trouble with the law after getting into a disagreement with his grandfather.

Police say they were called to a family dispute around 10:20 a.m. Friday in Chatham.

Officers learned that a 23-year-old man had become upset with his grandpa and allegedly started breaking stuff inside his grandpa's home.

Police arrested the man for mischief under $5,000. He was also charged with failing to comply with his probation order.

He was eventually released with a future court date.

Woman arrested in police station parking lot

A woman had to spend some time with police after trying to enter one of their cruisers.

Around 2:45 a.m. Saturday, officers noticed the woman trying to gain access to a police car in the Chatham-Kent Police Service parking lot.

Cops were able to stop her and determined that she was under the influence of illicit drugs.

The 35-year-old was arrested for breach of the peace and released once sober.

Woman charged with impaired 

A 52-year-old woman has been given a future court date after allegedly drinking and driving.

It started when police got a call about an impaired driver in Chatham. Officers were able to locate the vehicle on Sass Road and conducted a traffic stop.

The woman was determined to be impaired and was arrested as a result.

Man arrested for breach

A man is facing a failure to comply charge after talking to someone he shouldn't have been.

Around 8:30 a.m. Friday, police investigated a complaint of a domestic-related breach of a court order.

A 27-year-old Wallaceburg man was allegedly communicating with his ex-girlfriend, contrary to his court order.

Police located him, arrested him and took him to the police station for a bail hearing.

Woman arrested for failing to comply with conditions

Shortly after midnight Saturday, police received a tip that an adult female was breaching her release conditions.

The woman was supposed to remain at her house at night however, they found her at another residence in Chatham.

She was arrested for failing to comply with release conditions and eventually released with a future court date.
