Two arrests after Wallaceburg break-in

An investigation is ongoing after two people were arrested in connection with a break-in at a commercial property on Garnet Street in Wallaceburg.

Police said they received the call at around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday from someone who reported the break-in had just taken place.

Investigators learned that two suspects had cut a hole in a fence and entered the property in an attempt to steal some tools.

Officers were able to locate the pair a short distance away and arrested them.

Shed broken into in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are putting out a call for tips as they investigate a break-in at a residence on Edgar Street in Chatham.

Officers said someone broke into a shed on the property, adding that it's not clear yet whether anything was taken.

Woman arrested during traffic stop

A 30-year-old woman who was wanted by Chatham-Kent police was arrested during a traffic stop in Chatham Tuesday afternoon.

Police said an officer on general patrol pulled the vehicle over at around 3 p.m. Tuesday and learned that the passenger was wanted on a warrant.

The accused was arrested and taken to police headquarters, then released with conditions and a future court date.

Speeders stopped in CK

Chatham-Kent police handed out a dozen speeding tickets during a traffic blitz on Charing Cross Road and Grande River Line on Tuesday.

Officers said they also warned four drivers for various other offences.

Police are reminding drivers to slow down and to watch their speeds on area roads.
