Traffic stop leads to charges

A call from a concerned citizen has led to charges for two people.

On Friday, cops got a report of a vehicle driving erratically on St. Clair Road North in Wallaceburg.

Police were able to stop the vehicle and as a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Additionally, the passenger of the vehicle was found in possession of suspected heroin and charged accordingly.

Drug possession arrest

A "suspicious" person is facing drug-related charges.

According to police, it started when officers were dispatched to investigate a complaint about a suspicious person.

They were able to locate the suspect and found them in possession of a small quantity of crystal meth. They were charged accordingly.

Man arrested after domestic assault 

A man is facing charges after a domestic assault investigation.

Police responded to a dispute shortly after midnight Saturday. Through investigation, officers learned a man and woman got into a physical altercation.

The woman was allegedly punched and choked and taken to the hospital as a result.

The man was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Man arrested for theft 

A theft at the Walmart in Chatham has left one man in trouble with the law.

Cops responded to the shoplifting complaint Friday afternoon after a man allegedly stole a box of medication.

The suspect fled the scene and ran to a business across the street.

Officers arrived, identified the man and arrested him for theft and possession of property obtained by a crime.

Man arrested on outstanding warrants

Friday afternoon, police were able to locate a man who was wanted on several warrants.

After a foot chase, the man was arrested on the warrants and was additionally charged with breaching his court-ordered curfew.
