The LaSalle Vipers shutout the Chatham Maroons 5-0 on Thursday to force a Game 6 in their quarterfinal playoff series.
The Vipers took the lead early by scoring 5:31 into the first period, and then extended their lead by scoring two back-to-back goals in the first half of the second. LaSalle capped off the shutout victory with two more unanswered goals early in the third.
Maroons goaltender Kevin Linker made 26 saves out of 31 shots on net.
Chatham leads the best-of-seven series 3-2.
The Vipers will face elimination again on Saturday when the two teams face off in Game 6. The puck drops at 2 p.m. in Chatham.
