Man damages wall in Wallaceburg Walmart

A 27-year-old man is spending some time in police custody after a violent outburst in Wallaceburg.

Police said the man walked into the Walmart store there just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday and allegedly started yelling and swearing at employees.

Officers said he then entered the men's bathroom and damaged the partition wall that is in place between the urinals before taking off.

Police eventually caught up with him and took him into custody pending a bail hearing.

No charges reported after vehicle hits pedestrian

A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in Chatham Thursday morning is recovering from non-life threatening injuries.

Chatham-Kent police said the pedestrian allegedly ran out in front of the vehicle in the area of Queen Street and Indian Creek Road at around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

No charges were reported as a result of the investigation.

Man arrested after throwing a shoe

A 41-year-old man is in trouble with the law after he allegedly threw a shoe at a 25-year-old woman's face during an argument recently.

Police said the accused was arguing with the woman over money when he allegedly spit in her face and then threw the shoe at her.

He was arrested and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Broken window leads to mischief charge

A 19-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with mischief after allegedly smashing a window during a dispute earlier this month.

Chatham-Kent police said the incident took place on February 3, adding that officers picked the man up early Thursday morning.

He was charged and released with a future court date.
