Woman sent to the hospital after violent argument

A 54-year-old Chatham man is facing charges for allegedly hitting a woman in the head with an object.

Police said an argument between the two turned physical on Sunday night. It's not clear what the woman was hit with but officers said she was taken to the hospital.

The 54-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats. ---------

Chatham man charged with mischief 

Punching the windshield of a vehicle didn't end well for a 35-year-old Chatham man.

Police said he's charged with mischief under $5,000 and drug possession after an argument with a woman inside of a vehicle on Sunday.

The 35-year-old allegedly punched the windshield and cracked it after he was asked to get out. During the arrest, police said they found suspected cocaine in his possession.

Littering leads to drug charges

A couple of 18-year-olds from Windsor are facing charges after police found $4,000 worth of marijuana and cannabis oil during a traffic stop.

The vehicle was pulled over on St. Clair Street in Chatham after the passenger allegedly threw a plastic bottle out of the window. Officers said there was marijuana near the driver "in plain view". In addition to the pot and oil in the vehicle, some drug paraphernalia and cash were also seized.

The driver is charged with having cannabis readily accessible and being under 19 distributing cannabis. The passenger is charged with littering and being under 19 distributing cannabis.

Vehicle stolen in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are on the lookout for a stolen 1996 GMC Sierra pickup truck.

Police said the brown pickup was reported stolen on Monday around 6 a.m. The vehicle was left unlocked and running at a business on Richmond Street in Chatham.

The pickup truck was last seen with the license plates AN90053.
