Public consultations regarding the municipal Transit Strategy Project are expected to pick up where they left off in 2019.
Feedback had been sought over the past several months as public information centres were set up across Chatham-Kent. The strategy will look at long term improvements that can be made to CK Transit over the next five to 10 years. Based on research and feedback, recommendations will later be made to council members.
The next round of consultations will take place in Bothwell and Thamesville on January 29. The Bothwell information session will be held at the theatre on Main Street from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Consultations in Thamesville will take place at the Brunner Community Centre from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The sessions will be in an open-house format where residents can drop in and ask questions. Information presented during this round of consultations is based on information from phase one of the project.
The first public information centres regarding the transit strategy were held in Chatham, Blenheim, Ridgetown, Tilbury, and Wallaceburg in August of 2019. The second set of sessions was held in Blenheim, Ridgetown, Tilbury, Wheatley, Dresden, and Wallaceburg in December of 2019.
The final round of public consultations will take place in Chatham in the spring.
